    • Graphic language is one of the worldwide communication tools that understood except language, which is the same as math, numbers and music. Ship drawings are used to describe ship structures with certain rules in order to make the ship owner, engineers and surveyors simply and directly communicated. The course make use of the original textbooks of ship structure and ship knowledge. Moreover, it combines certain traditions of the domestic shipbuilding industry. Although, there is no specified original book for ship drawing, the blueprint drawings of a container ship with English Explanations have been employed as a compensation with an upcoming English lecture note. The course includes not only knowledge of ship structures, but also ship drawing skills with the aid of professional software. The nomenclatures of main ship structures, i.e. bottom structure, side structure and deck structure and their functions resisting outer loadings will be addressed and explained. Features of the gener

    • After completing the course, students should:
      1. Understanding and grasp basic ship knowledge and nomenclatures.
      2. Gain the ability to read and understand general ship plans.
      3. Obtain the ability to draw fundamental ship structure drawings with software.
      4. Describe and explain the features for typical structures.
