    • Course Description:
    • This is a fundamental course for undergraduate students of department of physics. It includes electrostatics, magnetostatics, Maxwell Equations, electromagnetic waves and radiation, and fundamental principle of special relativity. Course teaching, homework and examinations are all in English. According to the arrangement of yearly course time, one or two times of advanced scientific progresses introduction reports related to this course will be given. Students can have the chance to teach themselves in class and discussion with each other.

    • Profile
    • I received my Bachelor degree from the School for the Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2002. Later I received PhD degree from Institute of Physics, Beijing, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2007. From 2007 to 2009 I worked as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral research fellow in Heinrich Heine Universitaet, Duesseldorf, Germany. After that I joined LOASIS program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) as a postdoctoral research fellow. From 2012, I joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a Distinguished Research Fellow.

      My main research interests are laser plasma based particle accelerator and radiation sources including laser wakefield accelerator, laser solid ion acceleration and radiation sources from laser plasma interaction. In 2007 I got the Tsai ST Plasma award from Chou Pei-yuan Foundation. In 2012 I was selected as a member of National 1000 Young Talents program of China.
