    • Digital image processing is ubiquitous, with applications ranging from television to tomography, from photography to printing, from robotics to remote sensing. This course will emphasize general principles of image processing, rather than specific applications. Students will gain knowledge and practical skills and analytic background for building digital image/multimedia applications. It is expected to cover topics such as image sampling and quantization, color, point operations, segmentation, morphological image processing, linear image filtering and correlation, image transforms, multi-resolution image processing, wavelets, enhancement, feature extraction and recognition.
