Guo received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 at Ocean University of Qingdao, Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996 at South-East University, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. He worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Automation and Computer Aided Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from December, 2001 to May, 2002 and from January, 2003 to July, 2003. He acted as a Visiting Professor at University of Genova, Italy, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, and Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France, respectively. He is now a Full Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. His research focuses on parallel kinematic mechanisms and applications, mechanism analysis and synthesis, servo mechanical press design, and conceptual design methodology of robotic systems.
